His Excellency Dr Abdullahi Umar Ganduje OFR has sent a powerful delegation to Sudan to pay outstanding fees and allowances to Kano State Sponsored Students to the tune of N300Million in his effort to ensure that all inherited liability of our students from the previous government have been settled.
The fees which include tuition fees, upkeep allowances, accommodation, medical insurance, book allowances, resident permits fees and others was paid by the Executive Secretary of Kano State Scholarship Board, Prof Fatima, who was accompanied by Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Higher Education Hon Hussaini Jarma, as well as representatives from ministry of Finance and that of Education.
To date, the administration of Governor Ganduje has so far paid over N9Billion to upset tuition fees and allowances of Kano State Sponsored Students both in foreign schools as well as private schools in Nigeria.
It will be recalle that while others states have returned their students from foreign schools due to paucity of funds, Governor Ganduje has promised to continue upsetting the huge amounts of money to ensure that our students complete their studies and returned home with their qualifications.
Other schools too are expected to receive their payments soon, such that those in Egypt, India and Cyprus.
